Well, I’m in one of those introspective moods again, but a lot of it is stuff that I don’t really want to talk about, especially in a public blog, so I’ve saved yourself from having to read a bunch of mindless babble again. Its funny how different it can be to write something that you know no one will read (teenage diaries anyone?) as opposed to something that’s so public. Suffice it to say that I need to stop freaking the fuck out over things that aren’t important (remember that New Years goal? yea, me neither). I also need to figure out some things. And think. And do stuff. I don’t know exactly what I need to figure out or think about or do…but I feel like I’ve been so static in everything. I guess when nothing in your life is forced to change, its easy for every day to be the same. And why is time going by so fast, anyway? When did it get to be March of two thousand freaking twelve?
And speaking of which, I’ll be 25 in about a month, which is equally exciting as it is terrifying. But regardless, I’d like to do something fun. Any suggestions on places to go (if you’re in the area)?
I bought a bunch of new kitchen stuff this weekend from Bed Bath and Beyond. We got a new spice rack because the one we had before kind of sucked. It looks really nice, and it came with all these spices that we don’t use, many of which I’ve never heard of. Maybe I’ll find some fancy recipe that incorporates them. I also got a thing that chops vegetables. Its so much easier now to chop onions and garlic and all those things I usually hate chopping. It’ll be handy for that homemade salsa I mentioned before. I went through that first batch in a week…because it seems I have a problem. Who eats what amounts to like 2 jars of salsa in one week? Me, apparently. 
I was good with my budget last month but this month isn’t shaping up to be the best. Its only 5 days in the month and I’ve already spent over 50% of what I budgeted. Eek! I need to be good from here on out. Luckily, I have a good amount of cash-back for my credit card available where you can get gift cards. I was thinking about getting a pair of TOMS shoes with it. Do any of you guys wear TOMS? The reviews are mostly positive but it looks like they don’t hold up that well and I’m concerned about sizing when ordering shoes online. Hmm.

Yay for kitchen stuff that makes your life easier. And good luck getting back on track with your budget. I’m actually surprised that you have a budget. I don’t know too many people our age that actually budget their money. I love having a budget. I have a money program on my computer that tracks my money. I’ve been using it for almost 10 years now! I find it really interesting to see how much and where I spend my money over the course of a year. I make a lot more money than I thought I did, but also spend more too haha.

Good luck with getting back on budget! Since I’m an avid card-swiper, I tend to take out my budgeted bi-weekly amount in cash and then once it’s gone, it’s gone. It works better for me that way so I’m not surprised when my bank account becomes nearly drained way earlier than anticipated!
On top of that, I’ve started little saving tips, such as putting the change from the remaining weeks into a piggy bank, allocating $75 bucks per paycheck into a savings account rather than spending (I started this in February and get paid biweekly, meaning by the end of the year I’ll have over $1800 in savings that would get spent elsewhere!)
I’m only 23 and I am a sucker for purchasing… EVERYTHING! But these three little things have helped me a great deal! Good luck!
